Last performed by TTC in 2001, 1776 returns! Witness the birth of our nation as our forefathers struggle to craft the Declaration of Independence. This unconventional Broadway hit puts a human face on the pages of history and lets us see the people behind our national icons.
It’s the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence… if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! We’ll follow John Adams of Massachusetts (Michael Knighton), Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania (TTC veteran Gigi Greene) and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia (Charlsie Harris) as they attempt to convince the members of the Second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy.

1776 is a funny, insightful, and compelling look at the events that changed the world, when we chose democracy and freedom over tyranny. Come witness history as told by the incredible voices of your community’s theatre.
