Artist’s Statement:
Although I have great respect and admiration for representational art, I have always been most compelled by abstract art. Particular artists who have influenced me include Joan Mitchell, Gerhard Richter, Paul Klee, Jackson Pollock, and Willem de Kooning. I paint not to represent something or to express myself in some way, but rather to satisfy some strange, deep desire to create something new and interesting.
