Pascal Bruckner will discuss the nondemocratic state of Russia, a country long devoted to slavery and autocracy that never abandoned the idea of being an empire. Through quotations from Russian writers, Vassili Grossman, Alexander Soljhenitsin, Bruckner will attempt to show how Putin and the Kremlin have declared war on the West and independent Ukraine since the beginning of the 21st century.
AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY:
Pascal Bruckner is a French philosopher and novelist, born in I948. He has about 30 books published and translated in 30 countries. Bruckner is a Professor at Sciences Po (Paris) for twenty years and a visiting Professor in NYU, SDSU, and Texas A&M.
