Rapper SSG Splurge is a rising MC out of East Arlington, Texas, whose menacing trap music has transfixed the next generation of hip-hop fans. Splurge got into music at age 15, when he wrote a song to perform at his birthday party. The celebration got canceled, but he released the track anyway, and it became a local smash. His 2018 breakout single, “Backwoods,” expanded his fanbase outside of his city. The rapper garnered millions of video views with follow-up songs like 2018’s “Beat By Jeff” and “Intro Part. 2.”The success of Splurge’s early music brought attention from superstar rappers like Playboi Carti, Lil Yachty, and Lil Uzi Vert, who danced to one of SSG’s songs in a social media video.
