History In Motion at the Museum of the American G.I.

Tanks, Tanks, Tanks! Hear the rumble of historic tanks, vehicles, and the boom of artillery at the Museum of the American G.I.’s “History in Motion” on November 13 & 14.
 

Feel the ground shake as the tanks, vehicles, and artillery take to the arena in a fantastic display of historic military might! At the Museum of the American G.I., you will see one of the finest collections of pristinely restored vehicles in the South!

This action-packed weekend has fun activities for the entire family! There will be vehicle and weapons demonstrations throughout the day. In between the demonstrations, you can see historic military vehicles up close and learn what it takes to crew them or take in a WWII Tank.

Make sure you visit the artillery range for the opportunity to pull the lanyard on a historic 75 mm Howitzer (*$40/round) or fire a machine gun (paintball adapted *$10/ 50 rounds)! and the transportation station for the opportunity to ride in a WWII tank (*$125) or WWII Half-track ($20) for one loop around the arena! * Tax-deductible donation with proceeds going to maintaining the museum’s collection.

Gates open at 9:30 AM on both days. Saturday hours will be 10 AM – 4 PM and Sunday hours will be 10 AM to 2 PM. Come early and stay all day! You will not want to miss anything. Food vendors will be on-site to make sure no one goes hungry! Tickets are $10 Adults, $5 Kids (5-11), Under 5 free (Cash Price) with parking onsite. Credit cards accepted (with convenience fee)

**Health & Safety Regulations for the ride a tank participants: Participants must be a minimum height of 52 inches and be fit and able to climb on and off the vehicles unaided. Participants must be able to easily enter and exit the hatch of the vehicle and have no underlying health condition that would preclude riding in “off-road” conditions. All participants must sign a hold-harmless agreement. If the museum decides for any reason that it is not safe for a participant to ride, the participant will not be able to participate in their scheduled ride and their donation will be refunded.
