SEAD Academy is an immersive and interdisciplinary summer camp program that integrates Science, Engineering, Art and Design through a panel of innovative and engaging courses. Every year, SEAD Academy partners with some of our community’s finest instructors to create engaging and challenging courses for students aged 6-16. Through these classes, Advent GX seeks to encourage innovation and promote the discovery of new ways to understand and positively impact our communities and our world.
The Smart Home Competition promotes STEM through the use of building automation applications, connected devices (Internet of Things) and additive manufacturing (3D printing). This program proposes students to take part in an exciting competition to design and build a miniature smart home in an imaginary new city. Over the course of the week students are challenged to work in teams to build a 1:10 scale house that is beautifully designed, includes automatic parts and complies with a specific budget and building codes.
