Lace up your running shoes and join us for a run! Held on the second Saturday of every month, each meetup features a different route and distance options.
Second Saturdays is Lake Walk’s run club designed to bring together runners of all skill levels – whether you’re a novice runner or have multiple marathons under your belt.

When training for an event or wanting to maintain mileage built, for me, its nice to have a guide and know the purpose for the workout. With targeted training such as Pace Zone and Perceived Exertion, building, strengthening and maintaining your running routine will get you to your finish line efficiently and injury free.

Pace Zone Training – requires a GPS device.
Pace Zone Training (PZT) meets the individual where they are at in their fitness/running journey. We will start with a 20 minute assessment and from there zones (1-5) are created based on pacing. From there, workouts are created with zones to fit the individuals goals. Each workout has a body stress score which helps make gradual increases and adjustments to the week. This form of training is great for ANY level of fitness (even walking).

Perceived Effort Training – does NOT require a GPS device.
Perceived Effort Training (PET) is based on your feeling THAT day. No assessment needed prior to beginning. PET is based on a 1-10 scale, 1 being easy walking around your home and 10 being all out – maybe sustain for 15-20 seconds. Workouts are created based on what you believe that day is the exertion asked for. This form of training is a good introduction to PZT however it is not as accurate, nor can true performance metrics be pulled.

This event is free & open to the public to attend.
